Japan AirAsia confirms closure



         Air Asia Japan, a subsidiary of Malaysia's low-cost carrier Air Asia Group, confirmed that the company has decided to stop operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has reduced air travel.


"Travel restrictions and the uncertainty they bring have severely weakened the demand for business and leisure travel, leading to fewer flights, cancellations and grounding of aircraft. These factors have severely affected the company's ability to continue operations," AirAsia said in a statement Write.


   The media began reporting last week that Japan AirAsia will close its business in Japan.


   Since its establishment in July 2014, the company has been operating domestic and international flights at Central Japan International Airport.


         "Although we maintain operations through continuous and extensive cost-cutting measures, we have concluded that without any visibility and definite recovery path after the epidemic, continuing operations will be extremely challenging for us. Sexual achievement,” Jun Aida, representative director and chief operating officer of Japan AirAsia, said in a statement posted on the airline’s website.


   "We have cancelled all flights. All affected guests will receive further information via email within 7 days."


   The suspension affects all domestic and international flights operated by AirAsia Japan under the letter code DJ, but does not affect other flights in and out of Japan operated by other airlines in the AirAsia group.


   AirAsia stated that after lifting travel restrictions and reopening the border with Japan, international flights from Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines to Japan will resume in the “future”.
