Singapore continues to rank first in the international shipping center list

Singapore has maintained its position as the number one international shipping center, and the Baltic Exchange/Xinhua Index has remained basically unchanged.

The new crown pneumonia pandemic has little impact on the index. Mark Jackson, CEO of the Baltic Exchange, commented: "This year's ranking is in the context of the global pandemic and the significant damage to lives and businesses around the world. Made.” Despite these challenges, the huge human and equipment infrastructure that supports the global shipping of billions of tons of trade remains strong. "

The index covers 43 shipping centers. Over 2020, the only change in the top 10 is Ningbo, China. This is the first time that China has replaced Tokyo, the capital of Japan, to enter the top 10.

Lu Suling, general manager of the Baltic Exchange Asia, pointed out at a media conference that Ningbo’s geographical location is of strategic significance, and the port complex and shipping service industry are booming.
